I Love to See the Temple

After a long two years, we were able to go back to the temple this week!   While the temples were closed, we had a number of missionaries that were not able to go to the temple before beginning their missions.  Last December, Elder and Sister Warren and Elder and Sister Beck were able to accompany 13 missionaries to the temple.  We were happy that they were able to go with the missionaries, as they both were returning home soon. Over the last six months, more missionaries have arrived that have not been to the temple.  Recently we were advised that we could book to take them when the time was convenient for us.  Since we no longer have any Senior Couples, we asked if we would be able to accompany them, and received approval!  It took a few weeks of making arrangements and hoping the travel restrictions would continue to allow the trip.  We are so appreciative of our representative at the Area Travel office, Izra, who arranged the flights and hotel...

  Today was a very enjoyable day.  We were up early so we could attend a Sacrament Meeting in Burgos about 1 hour from here in Cauayan.  After Sacrament Meeting I was privileged to set apart a beautiful young sister as a missionary.  Her mission starts this week.  She will do 1 week home missionary training and then go to the Missionary Training Center in Manila for 2 weeks to start her mission (yay! the  training centre has reopened).  While in Burgos, we attended two Sacrament Meetings.  People here are so kind and because we were an unexpected guest at the meeting, the leaders quickly rearranged the meeting so that I was given an opportunity to speak.  It was not something I expected, as I am happy to quietly attend, but as the Mission President presides over the Districts, I am often asked to speak at the end of the meeting.  Fortunately, earlier this week I had read in the Book of Mormon an explanation of the children of Israel's ex...
